Garden of the Gods

I found these photos and scanned them. You may have seen them on Facebook already. Just thought I'd share. This was taken July 21, 2001. Maybe we can take an updated picture with all our spouses and children this summer.

Porcelain?

Tara, I was looking at this picture, and I couldn't help but wonder if you are tricking us all with a porcelain doll instead of a real baby. His skin is just too darn perfect!!! I mean, look at this picture. No one is this stinkin cute!

Alright, here it is

This is the moment you've all been waiting for....Me, getting around to downloading my pictures!!
I know it looks terrible. That's probably why I waited for so long. Teagan is doing MUCH better now! We do find him playing with that no tooth spot with his tongue sometimes. This picture was taken 3 or 4 days after. You don't want to see what he looked like 2 and 3 days after. It was terrible. But as you can see with this one, he is still a happy little boy. Just don't look at the runny nose. Sorry about that. I also couldn't post this without putting some of the other two on it. So, I'm including their last day of wresting picture. Not all of the kids were there for the picture. I'd say 1/2 didn't show up. Tyler had a good time and said he wanted to do it agian. Trenton, I think, needs to get a little bit bigger.

From the Eagars

Ashton went in for a check up today. I wrote about it on my blog, so go here to read it.

Also, I spoke too soon earlier when I said we were 99% positive we were coming up to Montana at Easter. Jabon's school schedule is very busy at that time. He's got an essay due in his English class that week and has group work in his math class the Monday and Wednesday after Easter. Plus, his math class relies heavily on lectures, so if he misses a class he has to figure out how to do the work all by himself. The book only contains questions, not discussions. It's really messed up. If we went up there, his schooling would be in trouble and all he'd be doing is homework. We are going to have to look at going possibly during Spring Break or in-between semesters. That totally sucks, 'cuz we want to be there for Emma's baptism and for Easter. Unfortunately, we really should be responsible college students and put our classes first right now. Darn it! 'Course Jabon said the boys and I could go without him, but I don't see me driving that distance with 3 boys, one being an infant. I'm not that brave.

So, as of now: No on the Easter trip, Yes on coming up there sometime in the future. Yeah, I realize that is very vague, but that's all I got. As plans evolve, I will let you know!

Ashton -latest picture

Ashton is 4 months old today!

Happy Birthday, JC!

Happy Birthday, JC. I found this old picture and now I have a scanner, so watch out, everybody. This is JC's birthday in probably 1990 (judging by my perm). It's the house in Idaho, I know that for sure.

I hope you have a good day, JC. Even if I doubt you'll ever read this. Oh well!!

Millie is 2 months old...

...almost. Today we went to Millie's 2 month check up with the doctor. She got her shots, which almost made the nurse cry because Millie is so cute. Yeah, I'm biased. Sue me. Anyway, she's doing really well. She has a birthmark on the top of her head that started out looking like a portwine stain, like mine. But now it's raised up a bit. The doctor said that it could continue to grow until she's about 9 months, but it's nothing to worry about unless it grows out from her head more. We'll keep an eye on it.

She's doing just fine growth-wise. She's 22 1/4" (more accurate than the 23" she was supposedly measured at during her 2 week checkup) and 12 lbs. I expected her to be about 10 lbs. The girl is heavy! She's been asleep for a while now. I think the trauma of the shots wore her out.

No More!

I have decided this morning to get rid of all of the food in my house. Not for dieting purposes, or anything like that. Teagan, the little angel that he is, gets into EVERYTHING!! He is a morning riser. 6:30 and he's up and raring to go. But not me. So, very bad motherlyly of me, I get him a glass of milk and turn on the TV and go lay down for a bit longer. AHH TV. What did I do without you? Then maybe 15 minutes goes by, and Tyler wakes up. He goes in the kitchen and gets himself some breakfast. Which I am totally fine with, but Teage follows. And while Ty has the cupboard open for the cereal, he can't seem to close it soon enough, Teagan has a box of cereal out and is dumping it all over my living room floor. So you see, if I want to keep my house clean, I have got to get rid of the food. Crumbs and blue carpet just do not mix well. I have to vaccum every day. And I mean EVERY day!! It was very nice of Tyler today. He actually came and got the vaccum and vaccumed it up. Not all the way, but in a way that a 7 year old can do it. Kids... you just gotta love em huh?

Easter/Emma's B-day

After completing our taxes, I think it is safe to say that the Eagars are going to be in Montana for Easter. We are getting some moula back and now just need to check all of our test dates for school. We are thinking of being up there from Sat the 11th to sometime that next Thu-Sat after Easter. It all depends. I have to be back to work by Tuesday the 21st and we are not sure how much time we will take inUtah on the trip back. I don't think we are going to go through CO this time around.

Also, I talked to JC this afternoon and he is going to see if he and Kelsey can come up at that time as well. We will let you know specific details as they are known to us! Love you all and are so excited to see you soon!!

The Rules of Fightclub

Okay, so we all know the rules of Fightclub (Don't talk about Fightclub) but the first rule in the Johnson household is "No kid drinks in the living room." Here's the reason why: Almost right after we moved into our nice new house one of the kids spilled orange pop on the carpet. Yes, I was angry. Hence, the rule.

Well, evidently I'm holding in a bunch of aggression because Friday night I dreamt that the kids kept making me mad so I kept swearing at them. PG-rated, but still. Anyway, I also dreamt that some orange drink got spilled all over the carpet. Saturday morning I woke up to Emma saying, "Mommy, Mommy! Abby accidentally spilled Matt's drink in the living room!" I ran into the room, somehow knowing this was going to happen. There, in front of the tv in the middle of the room was a big stain of blue Powerade. That's right. BLUE. (By the way, I didn't swear.)

As hard as I tried to get the stupid stain out, it's there staring me in the face. Dad came over this morning and offered to help get the stain out with their Electrolux carpet cleaner. He tried really hard, but it didn't come all the way out.

Despite our failed attempts to fix the blue, I'm still so glad that Dad came by and tried to help me out. Thanks, Dad! You're the best and I love you so much!!

A Request and An Apology

In case you didn't notice, I added a list of birthdays and anniversaries to the right of the blog. Did I forget anyone, or get any of the dates wrong? Let me know so I can make any corrections. Also, do you want to add any family pictures along the side? Just email me one you think might work for your family.

Anyway, the other day the kids were supposed to be cleaning their rooms (it seems like they're always supposed to be cleaning their rooms) and Abby and Matt were downstairs "helping" Emma. I told the two younger kids to come upstairs to clean their own rooms and the three of them tried to convince me that they were rotating rooms to help each other clean them. Yeah, right. That might have been the idea, but it wasn't going to end up that way. I knew that Emma would get the help she wanted, but the other kids would get screwed in the process.

I asked Josh how Emma thought it would work and he said, "Come on, she's smart and she's the oldest. Don't tell me you never did this kind of stuff to your brothers and sisters." Crap. Of course I did.

So, to you, my siblings, I love you and I'm sorry for all the times while we were growing up that I manipulated and downright tricked you into doing my bidding. That was mean of me. Typical and kind of funny, but mean.

Smith Family Pics

I just thought I would show off my handsome family. We had a good time taking these pictures. It was fun to dress up. Even though it was not my idea. And I had to wear lip stick. YUCK! But they turned out really cute.

Day of trauma

Teagan had a hard day today. While I was vaccuming our living room, he got into my closet. Which is normally blocked so he can't. He usually sits on the couch and watches me while I do this, but today he was braver than normal and decided to go into my closet. I heard him fall, and went to see what he did. He came out crying, with blood all over his mouth. Frantically of course, I went to wipe him up and found out that he had fallen so hard on SOMETHING that his front top left tooth had been pushed backwards. I tried to call James, which he was in the Creek doing a test at the time, but couldn't get a hold of him, so I took Teagan to the ER in Woodland. We were waiting so long there that James was able to meet us before we were called in. So we left to go to the Springs. Instead of going to the doctor, we took him straight to the dentist since he stopped bleeding and could tell it was just a dental problem. She, the dentist, referred us to an oral surgeon who said that it should probably come out so that it does not infect the roof of his mouth, and make his big boy tooth, that you could see in the x-ray, it was pretty cool, get ruined. So after talking about it for a couple minutes, weighing the pros and cons, we decided to take it out. :( Long story, very long but trying to make it short, he has his very first tooth gone. He's a sad sight right now. His lips are swollen. The top lip because his tooth was so ouchy. The bottom lip because he cut it on the inside and the outside. Poor guy. I tried to take a picture of it, but it hurts him too much to get a good shot at the missing tooth. So all you get is the swollen lips. I hope everyone else had a much better day than we did!!!

Blast From the Past

Here are some of the pictures I've recently come across. I think they're kind of hard to see since I had to scan them and it was just a regular scanner, not a photo one. But, they may still be kind of fun to look at. This is the five of us at the base of a T-Rex in Vernal, UT. Proof that we really are old. A dinosaur is chasing us, for crying out loud!

This is us near the Green River on the same trip. My question is, Tara, do you even own Wranglers anymore???
